Our Weed Control/ Fertilization Program
Early Spring Pre-Emergent and Weed Control. This treatment specifically targets crabgrass for pre-emergent control, and will provide post-emergent control of broadleaf weeds (henbit, dandelions). It is a full liquid application. This treatment sets the stage for a healthy lawn all year.
Spring Fertilization. This treatment is the first fertilization of the year. Bermuda yards are fertilized with a high rate of nitrogen to assist green-up and kickstart growth. Any existing weeds are spot-treated. Fescue yard are treated with a high rate of nitrogen as they are very active this time of year.
Early Summer Fertilization. Bermuda yards are fertilized with high nitrogen fertilizer and all existing weeds are spot-treated. Fescue yards are fertilized with an organic fertilizer and all weeds are spot-treated. Fescue yards are thoroughly inspected for any signs of turf disease.
Summer Fertilization. Bermuda yards are treated with a high nitrogen fertilizer and all weeds are spot-treated. Fescue lawns are treated with an organic fertilizer and all weeds are spot-treated.
Late Summer/Early Fall Fertilization. Bermuda yards are treated with a slightly lower rate of fertilizer as the lawn is beginning to slow down and head into dormancy. All weeds are spot-treated. Fescue lawns are treated with organic fertilizer. If a fescue lawn needs to be overseeded, now is the time to get an estimate.
Fall Pre-Emergent. Bermuda lawns are treated with a pre-emergent for winter annuals (henbit, poa annua). This is an all liquid application. Fescue is not treated with a pre-emergent but is spot-treated. All fescue lawns receive a high-nitrogen fertilizer as they are very active at this time.
